Repeal of the Income Tax Will Mean Massive Impact on Education
AFT Massachusetts has joined with a coalition of civic, business, community, non-profit and other labor organizations who strongly oppose the Income Tax Repeal Initiative. This group is known as the Coalition for Our Communities and will be working hard over the next six months to defeat the initiative when it appears as a ballot question in November.
For cities and towns that are already facing the impact of insufficient funds for education, fire, police and other essential city and town services the loss of additional revenue would be devastating. Your help is needed both in your communities and your locals.
If you have not already done so, please contact Cathy Dwyer, Political Director at AFT Massachusetts cdwyer@aftma.net to see how you can help. Also visit this website to find out how the repeal of the state income tax would affect your community.
